Patriotism and Pride: Special Assembly Commemorating India’s 80th Independence Day

A Special Assembly to commemorate India’s 80th Independence Day was conducted on 13 August 2026 with great patriotic fervour and pride. The assembly commenced with a soulful rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’, filling the atmosphere with a deep sense of patriotism and devotion to the motherland. This was followed by the Flag Hoisting Ceremony, as the Tricolour unfurled proudly, symbolising the nation’s freedom, unity and sovereignty. The gathering then stood in reverence for the National Anthem, reaffirming its pride and commitment to the nation.
The programme continued with the collective chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, invoking wisdom, positivity and strength. A stirring musical presentation of ‘Himadri Tung Shring Se’ beautifully captured the spirit of courage, determination and love for the motherland. This was followed by a poignant skit on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, which brought alive one of the most painful chapters of India’s freedom struggle and paid tribute to the countless lives sacrificed for the nation’s independence.
In her inspiring address, the Principal paid tribute to the countless freedom fighters and members of the armed forces whose sacrifices safeguard the nation’s freedom. She urged students to “look back to learn, not to live there” and channel their energy towards building a stronger and more united India. Drawing lessons from the day’s performances, she emphasised resilience in the face of challenges, self-discipline, cleanliness and collective responsibility, reminding students that the true celebration of independence lies in responsible actions and in keeping the Tricolour flying high through unity, discipline and purposeful contribution.
