Life at Salwan
Education at Salwan extends far beyond textbooks. Through sports, clubs, service, STEM, student leadership, our four houses, and global exchange programmes, we nurture well-rounded individuals – instilling life skills, nurturing creativity, and building character in every child.

Character, Resilience & Fair Play
Sport at Salwan cultivates resilience, discipline, and fair play. With state-of-the-art infrastructure and expert coaching, every student is encouraged to move, compete, and bring laurels to the institution.
- Football, volleyball, basketball, and cricket on dedicated grounds and courts
- Athletics and golf for competitive, outdoor pursuits
- Table tennis and chess for indoor focus and strategy
- Yoga for fitness, balance, and discipline
Find Your People, Find Your Spark
Children learn best when they are encouraged to explore, experiment, and engage through hands-on experiences. The diverse clubs and specialised coaching programmes provide opportunities for students to discover their strengths, nurture their talents, and pursue their interests beyond the classroom – from the Primary years through the Senior School.

Dance
A language that transcends all barriers. Students train in Classical (Bharatnatyam, Kathak), Folk and Semi-Classical, and Contemporary forms – refining aesthetic sense while building self-assurance, discipline, and elegance.
Music
A divine art and a language of the soul. Our curriculum spans Indian Classical, Hindustani Vocal, Semi-Classical, and Western vocal and instrumental music, developing both technical proficiency and expressive depth.
Fine Arts
Imagination and expression beyond mere technique. Students are guided to see the world through artistic intuition – even transforming East Delhi metro pillars into thought-provoking public murals.

Service Before Self
The life-skills programme follows the World Health Organisation’s framework of ten core competencies – from self-awareness and empathy to critical thinking and managing emotions – celebrating one skill each month through immersive weekly sessions.
Students lead real change through our environmental initiatives: e-waste collection with Namo e-waste, a 65-kW rooftop solar plant, aerobins, ecobricks, geotagging of all the flora of the school, paper recycling, rainwater harvesting, murals on East Delhi metro pillars, and over 2,000 saplings planted. The school has earned the Bajaj Foundation Award and the Kids for Tigers Best School Award.
Ideas That Solve Real Problems
The STEM ecosystem empowers students to imagine, experiment, and innovate with purpose. Through designing, building, testing, and refining their ideas, learners develop the skills to solve real-world challenges – moving seamlessly from the laboratory and workshop to meaningful applications beyond the school campus.
Samudra Kavach
A student-built STEM solution to marine oil spills – photosensitive sensors detect a spill and a pump deploys MSL-1, an eco-friendly dispersant. It secured 2nd position in North India at the CBSE National Coding Challenge and was showcased at the AICRA STEM Exhibition and Awards.
STEM Ignited Mindz
A hands-on club for our youngest innovators in Classes III–IV, where children explore science and coding through play, experimentation, and real-world problem solving.
Aeromodelling & Robotics
Senior students design, build, and fly their own models – moving fluidly between the workshop and the field to turn engineering ideas into working prototypes.
Model United Nations
At SAMUN 2025, nearly 290 delegates from across Delhi NCR debated humanitarian crises, global conflict, and sustainable development – building research, diplomacy, and consensus alongside our sister branch, with whom we jointly lifted the Best School Delegation Trophy.
A Student Council That Leads and Serves
The Student Council serves as a vital link between the student community and school leadership, nurturing a culture of responsibility, collaboration, and participative leadership across junior and senior grades. Selected through a process that recognises merit and potential, council members advocate for student wellbeing, lead initiatives, and contribute meaningfully to the vibrant life of the school.
Apex Body
The Apex Body, comprising the Senior and Junior Head Boy and Head Girl, Vice Head Boy and Vice Head Girl, and Sports Captains, provides direction and inspiration to the student community. Through their leadership, responsibility, and commitment, they serve as role models for their peers.
Main Council
House Captains, Vice Captains, and House Prefects – selected on the basis of their performance – promote discipline, good conduct, and active participation in everyday house life.
Student Committees
Presidents and Secretaries lead a range of student-led bodies, including the Discipline Committee, Cultural Committee, Environment Committee, Social Responsibility Council, Welfare Committee, Entrepreneurship Development Council, Peer Educators Programme, and Editorial Board. Each body provides students with opportunities to take ownership, collaborate with peers, develop leadership skills, and contribute meaningfully to the school community.
Living the Values
Rooted in timeless values of courage, strength, integrity, and wisdom, the Student Council empowers students to take initiative, express their voices, and embrace leadership with responsibility. Through collaboration and service, the Council nurtures a culture of cooperation, accountability, and shared purpose across the school community.
Four Houses, One Salwan
From Class III to Class XII, every Salwanian belongs to one of four houses – building a strong sense of identity, camaraderie, and collective responsibility. Through inter-house competitions in academics, performing arts, sports, and literature, the houses create a congenial yet competitive environment where leadership skills are developed and character is strengthened.
Parakram
Valour and Determination.
Shaurya
Courage with Honour.
Shakti
Strength through Unity.
Tejas
Brilliance in Action.
A Global Outlook, Rooted in Values
International exchange is fundamental to cultivating empathy, acceptance, and global understanding. Our ‘Global Partnership’ philosophy helps students harmonise traditional wisdom with modern innovation through collaborations and cultural exchanges with Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Dubai, the United Kingdom, Singapore, France, Germany, and West Africa.
We have received the British Council’s International School Award – now called the RIDS (Recognition of International Dimension in Schools) – on five occasions. In January 2025, a delegation of IT teachers represented the school at BETT UK 2025 at ExCeL London, exploring AI-driven learning, immersive AR/VR technologies, and adaptive learning platforms.
