One-day Training Programme on Forensic Science

An Experiential Journey from the Classroom to the Crime Scene

On 08 September 2026, 40 students of Class XII, accompanied by three teachers, visited Shri Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary Medical University for a one-day training programme on Forensic Science. The enriching experience offered valuable insights into the application of Biology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Genetics and Microbiology in criminal investigation. Students explored the forensic significance of bones, diatoms in drowning investigations, fingerprint analysis and dermatoglyphics. Hands-on activities and demonstrations using specialised equipment and ultraviolet light further enhanced their understanding. Engaging theatrical presentations depicting crime scenarios highlighted the importance of scientific reasoning and evidence-based investigation. The visit broadened students’ perspectives, strengthened their conceptual understanding and introduced them to an intriguing interdisciplinary career avenue where science intersects with medicine, law and investigation.
