Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar conducted a pre-announced Disaster Management Evacuation Mock Drill on Thursday, 24 September 2026 for Classes III–XII, with the objective of sensitising students and staff about emergency preparedness and ensuring a safe and systematic evacuation process.
Prior to the drill, students were briefed about the evacuation routes, assembly points, safety instructions and the importance of remaining calm and disciplined during an emergency. Teachers were assigned duties at various floors, corridors and staircases to supervise the movement of students. Special arrangements were also made for students with special needs, with designated escorts and staff members responsible for their safe evacuation.
The evacuation was carried out through a sequence of six sirens, with different floors evacuating according to the prescribed schedule. Students assembled in the school ground at their designated placards along with their class teachers. Headcount was taken to ensure that all students had safely evacuated the building. A search party subsequently inspected the building to ensure that no one remained inside.
The drill provided valuable practical exposure to students and staff and reinforced the importance of preparedness and responsible action during emergencies.
