Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar organised an awareness workshop on POCSO, JJ Act and PoSH on 25 July 2026 for its teaching, non-teaching and support staff. The session was conducted by Ms Janhavi Singh, Advocate, who sensitised participants about child protection laws, workplace safety and their legal responsibilities.

The workshop covered key provisions of the POCSO Act, 2012, the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and the PoSH Act, 2013. Ms Singh explained the importance of recognising signs of child abuse, mandatory reporting, confidentiality, child-friendly procedures and timely intervention. Participants were also apprised of the role of NCPCR, CHILDLINE 1098, the UNCRC, children's rights, the prohibition of corporal punishment and essential life skills.

The session on PoSH focused on different forms of sexual harassment, the role of the Internal Committee, complaint redressal mechanisms and the importance of maintaining a respectful and professional workplace. A separate interactive session for support staff used practical examples to reinforce professional boundaries, vigilance and prompt reporting.

The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, enabling participants to clarify their concerns through practical case discussions. The programme strengthened awareness of legal responsibilities and reinforced the school's commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, respectful and inclusive environment for students and staff.
